Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Boccia Connect (boccia.website), a free community platform operated as part of the Beava ecosystem. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these terms.

1. About the Service

Boccia Connect is a free platform for the boccia community. We provide tools for club management, event organization, player networking, and coach discovery. There are no fees, subscriptions, or charges for using the platform.

Clubs may independently use Stripe to collect membership dues and donations from their members and supporters. These are transactions between you and the club — Boccia Connect is not a party to these transactions and does not charge any fees.

2. Accounts

• You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You may only maintain one account per person.
• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Users between 13 and 18 should use the platform with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
• You must promptly update your account information if it changes.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with a club or organization
• Harass, bully, threaten, or abuse other users
• Send unsolicited messages, spam, or bulk communications
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or platform systems
• Upload malicious code, viruses, or any harmful content
• Use the platform for any purpose that violates applicable laws
• Interfere with or disrupt the platform's operation or other users' experience
• Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract data from the platform without permission

4. Club Management

Clubs on Boccia Connect are managed by their designated managers. Club managers are responsible for:

• The accuracy of their club's information and public profile
• Reviewing and approving membership applications
• Managing club content, chat messages, and member roles
• Configuring and managing their own Stripe account if they choose to accept payments
• Ensuring their club's fundraising campaigns and dues policies comply with applicable laws
• Protecting the privacy of their members' sensitive information (medical notes, emergency contacts)

Boccia Connect provides the platform but does not oversee or control individual club management decisions.

5. Events

Event organizers are responsible for the accuracy of event details, venue information, scheduling, and participant management. Boccia Connect provides the tools for event creation and registration but is not an event organizer, host, or participant.

Registration information you provide for an event is shared with the event organizer to facilitate the event.

6. Content

• You retain ownership of content you submit to the platform (profile information, messages, event details, etc.).
• By submitting content, you grant Boccia Connect a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, store, and distribute that content as necessary to operate the platform.
• You must not submit content that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others.
• Boccia Connect may remove content that violates these terms or is otherwise harmful to the community.

7. Email Accounts

Clubs with a verified custom domain may provide branded email accounts to their members. These email accounts are provided as a feature of the platform and are subject to the following:

• Email accounts must not be used for spam, phishing, or any form of abuse
• Boccia Connect may disable email accounts that violate these terms
• Email accounts are tied to your club membership — if your membership is deactivated, your email account may be disabled
• We do not monitor the content of your emails, but may take action if abuse is reported

8. Payments and Donations

Some clubs use Stripe to collect membership dues and donations. When you make a payment:

• The transaction is between you and the club, not Boccia Connect
• Payment processing is handled by Stripe under their terms of service
• Refund policies are determined by the individual club
• Boccia Connect does not take any fees or commissions from these transactions

9. Disclaimers

Boccia Connect is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not guarantee:

• Uninterrupted or error-free service availability
• The accuracy of information provided by clubs, organizers, or other users
• The quality, safety, or outcome of events listed on the platform
• The suitability of practice partners, coaches, or clubs suggested by the platform

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Boccia Connect and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising out of or related to your use of the platform.

This is a free community service. Our total liability for any claim arising from these terms or your use of the platform shall not exceed the amount you have paid us (which is zero).

11. Termination

• You may stop using the platform and request account deletion at any time.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with or without notice.
• Upon termination, your right to access the platform ceases, but provisions that by their nature should survive (such as limitation of liability) will remain in effect.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
